Millbrook Country House
Owner-innkeepers Lorraine Alexander and Giancarlo Grisi welcome you to an intimate, elegant
country retreat in the heart of Dutchess County horse country. Just 90 miles north of New York
City, Millbrook Country House is an historic American Colonial home, recently renovated and
redecorated with fine 18th-century Italian furnishings, many of which came from a Late Renaissance
villa near Modena, in northern Italy.
Two downstairs parlors are comfortably furnished and well-stocked with a selection of CDs and a
Bose music system, and floor-to-ceiling bookcases filled with history, travel, wine, and art
books, as well as fiction, in several languages.
Included in each night's stay are an excellent multicourse breakfast and afternoon tea, both
prepared by your hosts. On Fridays, a three-course prix-fixe dinner, with aperitif and digestif,
is also offered.
